Larry E. Epp, founder of and Wineries in Texas™, is the impetus for this leading-edge, database-driven, brochure-ware website -- TexasWineAndWineryGuide.com - which debuted in June 2008. TexasWineAndWineryGuide.com showcases the wines of Texas, the wine clubs offering them for sale, as well as the wineries crafting those wines.
and Wineries in Texas' primary goal is to bring new tourists to wineries, consumers to their tasting rooms, and members to their wine clubs; its secondary goal is to help educate those in and those visiting Texas about our wine industry; and its tertiary goal is to bring affordable, effective marketing services to Texas wineries.
and Wineries in Texas, LLC, a member of the Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association, is a for-profit, service-focused marketing firm bringing Texas' wineries new consumers as well as marketplaces for their wines. As such, and Wineries in Texas™ provides both marketing and web-based services to Texas wineries that improve their top (sales) and bottom (profit) lines as it also acquaints Texans, and visitors to Texas, with the award-winning wines being made and sold all across Texas.
The Texas Wine And Winery Guide website was developed, in close collaboration with the founder of and Wineries in Texas, as the 2008 Capstone Project of the senior students of Dr. Gerald Pitts, Caruth Distinguished Professor, Computer Science Department at Trinity University. The senior students involved: Joshua Aldana, William Basinger, Nickolas Chea (team leader), Joel Fessler, Adam Harwell, Cameron Hill, Steven Koucouthakis, Noah Seger, and Zain Shamsi. Mark Robinson, doctoral student and founder of Fulgent Corporation (a software development firm based in San Antonio), assisted Dr. Pitts' Capstone Project team and is both hosting and leading the on-going website functional testing as well as enhancements. Cap Diebel of The Denim Group is leading the website security testing.
Larry E. Epp is a native Texan born in San Antonio and reared, at least on weekends, in the Texas Hill County. He is a graduate of Trinity University as well as an accomplished "Epp-icurean" who enjoys pairing foods and wines with family and friends. In his wine-tasting events, he weds the lore and lure of the Texas wine being sampled with the wit, palette, and heart of those attending. As such, his "Epp-icurean" events are tuned to the knowledge of those participating and enjoying the wines of Texas.
and Wineries in Texas™ is helping to build rewarding, money-making, enduring, wine-centric
businesses, relationships, and friendships all across Texas. A portion of the profits
of
and Wineries in Texas™ goes toward: 1) funding an endowed scholarship to benefit computer-science and applied-mathematics students of Trinity University and 2) promoting the Texas wine industry through contributions to the
Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association.
